26th October 2017 - ELECTION DAY 1 Heavy Police & armed forces were seen through the re run election day in Kenya. Some skirmishes in different parts of the country were also reported. The authorities have been calm & seen engaging with public without using any heavy handedness but dialogue.
25th October 2017 Kenya's Uhuru, addressed the nation from the state house on the eve of re - run of elections asking all Kenyan's to unite for the prosperity of the country. He urged all Kenyan's to come out and vote as they did previously in August 2016.
24th October 2017 Election count down begins in Kenya as polls open in a day. Uncertainty, remains while opposition leader Raila Odinga is scheduled to make a final statement to the nation tomorrow, 25th October 2017. Uhuru Kenyatta has said the re-run of Presidential election must go ahead as planned, despite the chief electoral officer's recent statement that he cannot guarantee the polls would be credible.
Press Statement: Harare, 9 October 2017 Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) has castigated the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Lazarus Dokora, accusing him of worsening the crisis in the education sector by imposing policies which are not user friendly.
29th October 2017 - DAY 4 The head of Election Commission, Chebakuti defends the results coming out have not been manipulated. The verification process is transparent. Analysts believe that only 40% voting took place so therefore figures do not tally as they are being announced from the BOMA, where the IEBC, is based during this poll period. Observers have been indoors at their hotels while violence has been spreading through the country. Opposition strong holds residents have chosen not to vote for which polls were did not take place in those areas. Kenyan’s await IEBC’s repeat poll tally.
25th October 2017 The opposition leader Raila Odinga, today addressing supporters at Uhuru Park in Nairobi made his long awaited BIG announcement. "We the people of Kenya, followers of NASA movement assembled here at Uhuru Park & all the supporters all over the republic of Kenya resolve today that tomorrow the 26th October there will be no elections in the Reupblic of Kenya."
