28th October 2017 - DAY 3
The Election Commission IEBC, postponed polls for Saturday in the counties which saw resistance by the residents who made it clear they would use their right of not voting until new reforms were made by the commission.
The authorities with residents had running battles during which Police used live ammunition according to rights groups. In Bungoma county, two dies after being shot by the police and several injured who are reported to be in hospital.
In Migori, a 12 year old boy was shot in his stomach while in Kawangware tensions also escalated. Opposition supporters boycotted the re run polls. Destruction is evidently seen with burnt structures, properties & tension can be felt. Residents are carrying Pangas.
The IEBC, is still hoping to have polls in the 25 constituencies of the 4 counties but remain uncertain as the violence escalated & now Kenyans are beginning to attack each other on a tribal basis so the issue seems to have exacerbated to tribalism which is dangerously spreading like fire.
