FINALIZATION OF ELECTORAL LAW REFORM CRITICAL TO CREDIBLE ELECTIONS- ZESN

16 April 2018 – The Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) notes with concern delays by the Parliament of Zimbabwe to finalize the process of enacting comprehensive reforms to the Electoral Act in line with constitutional provisions. ZESN calls upon legislators and the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs to urgently consider the proposed amendments to the electoral laws as further delays will only serve to jeopardize the credibility of the impending 2018 elections.

Sierra Leone - On Saturday, members of the Kamara’s All People’s Congress Party (APC) including the presidential candidate, his running mate and the secretary general of the party together with other senior members paid a courtesy visit to president Bio at his Juba Residence in Freetown.

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has declared his intention to see for a second term in office.

Rising from the ruling APC party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting in Abuja, President Buhari said his decision was in the best interest of the party and the country.
