Sierra Leone - Dr. Abass Chernoh Bundu of the ruling Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) has been elected as Speaker of the 5th Parliament of the Republic of Sierra Leone. He went unopposed as members of the main opposition APC were not present in the House to participate or nominate a candidate for the election of the Speaker. 71 out of 76 MP's voted in favor of Dr. Abass C. Bundu from the (SLPP) with 1 invalid vote and 4 MP's abstaining. Meanwhile the election of the Deputy Speaker is still expected.72 out of 76 MP's have voted in Sengehpoh Solomon Thomas of the ruling (SLPP), as Deputy Speaker of the House of Parliament.
